It's my first blog post of 2012. Hope y'all are holding on to your New Year's resolutions! Currently I'm writing my thesis, I'm working and helping out my bf with his audio/visual production company. Once I reel in my bachelor, I will be able to blog more often, or not. Can't say what the near future will bring.

Worst blogger ever? It's almost been a month. Time flies. I could make up a million reasons for not blogging, but I have an honest excuse: my work where I -try- to master the art of creative writing. Therefore it leaves me with tabula rasa and not to mention zero energy, to come up with a nifty post. I respect you, daily bloggers! And all the painstaking time and effort y'all put in your blog.
Although I've not been participating much in bloggywood, it doesn't mean I've not been shopping...au contraire mes amis. It all started with the Zara sale. I first laid my hands on the (well known) black cut out pumps. I've asked chica Cindy to keep her eye out for the wedges and she bought them for me during a shoppingtrip in Deutschland. My Zara haul continued with a silk kimono and a cameo skinny. I could not leave American Apparel without a leather clutch and of course I got it in my fave color green, which perfectly fits my new iPad. Oh, and last but not least, a grey skinny from Zara's new collection. There you go.

Visiting the beach is fun, but the sand gets everywhere. I tried to get a tan but the wind kept blowing sand in my face [free scrub] Although it feels like Summer -once you get out of the wind- it's still Spring and the evenings get pretty chilly. I loved the beach and that pesky little wind, but going home and jumping into in my warm pj's feels pretty darn good.

During Easter weekend, the bf and I spent time with my family. The beach was the place to be, which we went to multiple times. Apart from strolls on the beach and a visit at the Easter market along the boulevard, I did not do much. Vacation rocks! I don't have to get up early, can sleep in and organize my days as I wish...oh, sweet freedom.

Sorting clothes by color is my way to organize my wardrobe. I have tried to sort on clothing type but it never turned out to be fun. I have collected many neutral colored items over the past year and my wardrobe gradually turned from black, to grey, to this. It ranges from sand, terracotta, tan, ivory, camel, caramel to plain white. Textures vary from suede, silk, wool, cotton to leather. Why shouldn't you wear light colors in winter?

Yesterday, my friend and I went to BIS for high tea. I do not have much of a sweet tooth but I do enjoy chatting over a good cup of tea. The sandwiches were layered with smoked salmon, tomatoes, cheese, mayo and red onions. Fresh bread, like bread is supposed to taste. Not to mention the scones, I absolutely loved them.

Chillin' in Amsterdam

Those who follow me on Twitter know, that I was hired for an internship (law related) a few weeks ago. I applied in July and have waited anxiously for a reply. I was ecstatic when I learned they chose me after the interview early September. I had to overcome mountains to get where I am now, so I picked this leather tee I have been lusting after for months, as a reward. I'm starting my eight-month internship in early October which I consider as a job and I'll be leaving my comfortable student life behind a whole academic year.

So I'm back from Cologne. We spent three nights at the Hilton hotel and were blessed with one sunny Saturday. I seized every opportunity to shop and even enjoyed climbing the Dom Türme. The nauseating 500+ steps up the claustrophobic winding staircase, not to mention we had to go down afterwards. No elevators. Tourists panting, puffing, swearing in their own language, the atmosphere was pretty good. Though the climb itself was pretty Scheiße, it was definitely worth the experience.

If you really knew me, you'd know I adore designer jeans. Finding the right pair equals looking for a needle in a haystack though. My first pair was a Seven For All Mankind and I've been hooked ever since. My addiction led to a well stacked shelf containing Frankie B, Rock & Republic and True Religion. Unfortunately, I purchased these jeans in the boot cut/flare era and once I got a taste of the skinny, there was no way back. A few were sold, a part was still being worn and the rest was collecting dust.

Imagine going trough racks of clothing, searching for the perfect jean shorts. Preferably low rise, clean wash, no frays or holes, comfortable and fitted. Nothing, nada. I was getting pretty frustrated until I had an epiphany. What if I took those old pairs and cut them into shorts? I mean, they are still perfect apart from the ugly flare so I'm killing two birds with one stone here, right?!

So these four pairs are the chosen ones and I'm wondering how they will turn out. I'll let you know.

Sheesh, is it July already? Time flies or I'm getting old (yeah, don't comment on that) But never too old for an old fashioned visit to my favorite store, Zara. As y'all know I had my celebration at big Z and it was a party all right. I came home with these great basics starting from left to right: long black blouse with pockets (I LOVE POCKETS) which you can wear as a tunic or as a dress if you feel sassy, reminds me of wearing your bf's buttoned shirt in a more tailored manner, a blush 100% silk blouse and a 100% silk nude one from the notorious Studio collection. Not bad right?

So, I hope you are all enjoying the nice weather and the World Cup! I am and I've been nerding it up with the Playstation 3, Red Dead Redemption to be exact. Rockstar Games is my supplier. Oh, and please refrain yourself from watching The Back Up Plan, c'est terrible! But do watch the new season of True Blood :)

So today was my annual Schiphol Airport visit. People ask me WHY? WHY WHY WHY WHY?! (in the style of Eddie Murphy, if you haven't seen it, you really need to) Simply because I can haha. I enjoyed my day off roaming on the terrace and sipping cinnamon tea accompanied by a big piece of apple crumble pie. YUM!

I'm oddly drawn to huge rings adorned with semi precious stones lately. So I added this one to the family. Set with grenat and tiny marcasite stones.

SHORT STORY

Funny story: I regularly take Vifit with me, a yogurt based probiotic drink when I'm on my way. I always remove the carton from my bag when I get home, obviously because of the chance of leaving nasty stains. So last weekend, I was going trough my closet where I store a part of my bags and this sweet yogurt smell tickled my nostrils. I was immediately alarmed, could it be true? Did I leave a carton in my suede bag?

Unfortunately my suspicion was confirmed. My black suede bag was drained and ruined, I was horrified. I had two options: binning the bag or washing it. I chose the last option, nothing to lose right? So I rinsed the bag, threw it in the washing machine, said a little prayer and waited patiently. And hooray it worked, it came out a tad stiff but I hope it will get softer after use. Phewwwwww close call.

How was your week dear readers? On Monday I kicked off with a boring class and ended with a great dinner with my brother, a friend and my bf. We had loads of fun, I really enjoy hanging out with my family :). I did some shopping at Zara on Tuesday, went to court on Wednesday (to plea!) and had a wonderful sushi dinner with the bf on Thursday.

Lately I've been doing loads of fun stuff. It all started last Friday when I took off to Rotterdam to meet up with friends for dinner & drinks & laughs. I recommend the Forbidden Fruit cocktail at Holland Casino *wink*. Caught the last train, slightly intoxicated. My bf's brother had his birthday party on Saturday, wasn't feeling too well...We decided to go to a late viewing of Ninja Assassin afterwards. Movie = *big fat yawn*. And today we went to Amsterdam to initially see Avatar in Imax 3D but due to disruptions and delays we couldn't. So it was Law abiding citizen instead, good movie by the way.

It was New Moon (Twilight) time today, my bf and I enjoyed a relaxing day in the city. The movie was ok, not sure about the acting though >_<.

So I'm still tired from the wedding, I had a BLAST. Working those 5 inch heels was easier than anticipated lol.

I anted up my wardrobe with this black leather jacket, from a previous collection by my favorite store Zara. I'm obsessed by it, I even wear it indoors when I'm cooking hahaa. No shame here :p.

Finally a pic of my bridesmaid dress!. I adore the Roman influence, the grey color, the flowy exterior, the soft interior and the tiny embellishments on the empire waist. I'm wearing this with these shoes.
These Steve Madden satin slingbacks have been sitting in my closet for years, unworn, brand new. I purchased them roughly four years ago on Ebay with the thought of weddings in sight. Now they're finally debuting with my black woolen dress I posted earlier. The heels on these are significantly lower than the grey ones, my feet will thank me later :).
You know the icy wind is going to sweep me off my high heeled feet when:
- I'm trying to get the bride and her dress in the car.
- I'm trying to get the bride and her dress out of the car.

You get the point. Hopefully this fake fur will suffice :).

Unbelievable, but I'm heading towards wedding number five. Apparently, 2009 is a good year to get married!. As promised, a pic of my little black dress. It's woolen, fitted yet comfortable. I'm wearing this dress in the evening when the party & grand dinner starts. My bridesmaid dress is still at the tailor's, pics have yet to come.

As for accessories, I'm wearing these precious Chanel earrings embellished with tiny pearls. I got them for my birthday two years ago.

How was your week?. Mine was filled with boring classes and fun trips with the bf. I had this chocolate chip muffin on Wednesday and it wasn't tasty at all. The jasmine tea however ( not pictured ) was delicious. I felt quite uninspired today, despite the particularly sunny weather. So I dressed up like a doctor who makes house calls. ♥ A Sony Cyber-shot in hot metallic red which I've taken these pictures with. No more blurry BlackBerry pics yay, back to my old skool quality pics.

♥ Not really a b-day present but I didn't pay for them myself. Fell in love with the elasticized (remember these?) straps and the mouse grey color once they hit the stores. Of course the price tag kept me from buying, how often do you wear them right?. But with my brother's wedding in Dec. in sight I was willing to pay full price. Luckily they were 50% off when I decided to purchase them :). I'm pairing these with a woolen little black dress. More about that soon.

♥ Black boots have taken over my shoe-drobe; soft, pebbly, black leather boots with fold-over detail topped my wish list. Unfortunately, like my black bag, they're not so photogenic in my opinion. Hail to the fold over boots, just like cuff sandals, they're not for everyone to love. But I'm a firm believer :).

There's one more present left to discuss but I will do that in time :).

Back after a short trip across the country :). I visited my family and celebrated my birthday which was yesterday on the 7th. Hip hip hooray, I received some kick ass presents like a digital camera (finally!), highly anticipated boots and more. Will post pics soon taken with my new cam yiharrrrrr.

Today I had my final (YAY!) oral surgery. My first appointment was in July and today was my follow-up for another wisdom tooth. Luckily it's a sunny Autumn day, so no biggie :). Sorry for the lack of updates but I've been busy with college and such. Guess what, my brother is getting married in December so I'm on the hunt for a new dress, any ideas?.

I'm wearing the first pair on the outfit photos, the second pair are my new babies. Simple, high, suede, flat boots :). That's how I like 'em.

It's a beautiful Autumn day and I'm enjoying every second of it. The bf and I usually spend the weekend visiting local shops and doing groceries. We devour fresh deep-fried cod while sitting on a bench nearby the supermercado, the little joys of our life :).

My wardrobe is kind of monochromatic, isn't it?. I love black and shades of grey, I think it goes well with a pop of color. I'm wearing these shoes by the way.

What do you think of my new suede gloves?. There's something about suede I tell you, I can't wrap my mind around it.

A few days ago I was rambling to Jazzie Fizzle about a H&M jacket I was lusting for. None like the Alexander McQueen jacket she got the hots for but I absolutely love this piece. When I saw it on the Nitrolicous website a few months ago, I anxiously waited for the day it would be sold on the online shop. Geez Louise,je suis retourné!. I've been catching up with family and have worked my tiny ass off, hence the lack of updates. I'm soooooo tired right now but somehow I've managed to find the strength to snap some pics of my latest purchases. You've met the flat version of these boots a few entries ago. The leather is super soft and slouchy, the sandy color is a great neutral.I really like the high heeled version for Autumn but isn't it too much to own both?. I think not, I spoil myself!. Besides, I rarely find boots that really suit and fit me well :).Last but not least, these Sergio Rossi inspired hot tamales. Seriously, these are the sexiest pair of shoes I own.I already have two pairs of cobalt blue shoes, both from Zara as well but when I found these on sale I just could not control myself. I'm officially weak.

So, how was your weekend?. Mine was busy and fun. I stayed over at my future-parents-in-law's house. We visited my bf's grandma where I took these peculiar photos. Not the best quality pics sorry but there's a story behind it. That dark spot in the lake is actually an island.Six cows ( holy cow!) were stuck on that tiny piece of land. You might recognize some shapes that remind you of cattle. Poor cows, too afraid to swim to shore. The fire department got them off the island by the way :).This is what I wore today when I was wandering around the city. I love these boots, sure they were expensive despite of it's sale tag, but I have zero regrets. I purchased them a week ago along with Candy's high heeled version. I hope she likes them :).

After a few stormy days and nights, the sun made it's appearance again. I wore my new blue heels (see previous post) paired up with my white boyfriend blazer. I've been meaning to update my blog more often but I've been caught up doing loads of fun stuff. Catching up with friends, going to the movies with the bf. I finally saw Transformers 2 in IMAX, the fx blew me away. Woohoo, I'm already looking forward to part trois :).My new leather bag came in today, it looks crooked but it's not ( too lazy to put it straight). You can wear it as a clutch as well.But I prefer the long strap :). My hot pink bandage skirt is peeking out.
It really adds a pop of color to my neutral wardrobe. I've been eyeing this piece for a while now, but never had the "courage" to purchase because of it's color. I'm glad I did :).

PS: Michael Jackson will be missed :(.

ZARA TIME

It was Thursday, I woke up early that morning. I pulled out my comfiest outfit out of my closet. A swift kiss on my boyfriend's lips and *poof* I was gone. Heading towards the first day of the Zara sale. I was lucky, when I arrived only a handful of people was in the store. My fingertips touched every garment on the racks. I tried every pair of shoes. Nothing made my heart go boom boom boom. The only thing that did, was this pretty bag:But wait...doesn't this bag look familiar?
You've already met her sister in previous posts. I'm glad I found it on sale, it has always been my second choice when I opted for that bag. The blue is vibrant, the suede is soft & yummy. Significantly heavier than her sister though, but just as pretty.

My bag haul didn't stop at Zara. I ordered this leather zipper bag I blogged about a month ago. It was on sale, how could I pass up :)?.

Impulse buys usually turn into regret buys, but not this time. I'm amazed by the soft leather and its texture. This baby retailed for €99 but I got it for a fraction of that price. Don't let the pic fool you, this clutch is huge!. Will post a reference picture soon :).

Sorry for the lack of updates but I've been busy :). My Dorothy Perkins sandals arrived, I'm very pleased with the silver undertones as I wear a lot of grey.
Last but not least, my precious yummy-soft leather bag/clutch from Zara. Sold out/gone in stores once I decided to pick up the bag. I will never hesitate again ;). I wish this bag was more photogenic, it's so much prettier in real life!

This is what I'll be wearing on Friday. Call me crazy or even obsessed, but I own these shoes in five different colors. I wore the black ones to the first wedding. They come in handy whenever I have a wedding or party to attend to. I also have some clutches on standby like this faux croc one from H&M.The coral clutch is fairly new and it matches perfectly with the coral rim on the shoes. Faux patent leather is the key to parties, it's virtually spill-resistant. Unfortunately, suede shoes aren't :(.

Here's a sneak preview of my new Rock & Republic jeans. Gotta love the skull!. The inseam is insane, about 35-36ish. I need to get them hemmed for sure :).
Love this vest from Zara. I wore a Large in the pic, unfortunately all smaller sizes were gone. The white tank top was purchased a while ago.

The dress can be worn with or without straps. But I prefer strapless :).
